The calibration shop has been put into operation in 1968. The capability of the Works is 200 thousand tons of calibrated rolled metal per year. The produced calibrated rolled metal is meant for use at automobile plants of Commonwealth of Independent States, machine industry, machine-tool industry and other branches including production of parts by cold and hot stamping method.

To manufacture high quality calibrated metal products CC “Konstantinovka Iron & Steel Works” uses state-of-the-art technologies and special equipment. Our Works manufacturing scheme includes optimal combination of different processes assuring manufacture of products with preset properties as per individual orders of our customers.

The production of calibrated rolled metal is carried out on eighteen drawing mills and four lines.

• Section of Alma Ata Heavy Machinery Plant consists of 14 mills with different standard sizes makes it possible to get production in coils of diameter from 5,0 up to 22,0 mm including cold worked wire having diameter from 5,0 up to 10,0 mm for armouring of reinforced concrete structures of Class B 500. Cutting to section lengths of 2,5-12 meters at Straightening-Cutting Mills.
• Drawing and calibration section of autocalibration lines (ACL) with overall annual capacity of 40 000 tons per year that allows getting production in bars of section length and off-gage ones having diameter from 8,0 up to 22,0 mm.
• Mills section of Irkutsk Heavy Machinery Plant (IZTM) consists of 4 mills with overall annual capacity of 76 000 tons. It allows getting production of rounds and hexahedral profile having diameter from 16,0 up to 80,0 mm.
• The calibration shop has heat treatment section. The annealing is performed in roller through-type furnace in protective atmosphere.

The finishing floor is designed to manufacture high quality surface of bars by polishing method.

There are following facilities at the floor:

• two rotary melting machines;
• cut-to-length-metal shears (tolerance value 0,5/+0,5);
• five centerless grinding machines;

The facility for cargo transportation at the Works:

• Electric Overhead Travelling Crane having hoisting capacity 10 tons.
